DIY Champaign Mini-bottle Wrapping

Presentation is everything. It can make ordinary items feel grand. This little project is a quick and inexpensive way to spread a little holiday cheer and make a 5 dollar gift look like a million bucks. Every year my office does a Secret Santa exchange. Leading up to the big reveal, we sneakily leave little treat on each other desk. This year, I decided to make these beauties as a Secret Santa treat and as gifts to my co-workers before Christmas break. The best part of this project is that the gift wrap is a conventional piece of 8.5 x 11 piece of paper and is probably something you would have on hand. If you need to make a batch of these they are simple to construct once you get all of the part and pieces prepped. I have included a downloadable template below to help make this project as simple as possible. If you’re anything like me, simple during the holidays is always welcome. Enjoy!

Materials

  • Standard 8.5 x 11 paper template [Download and print]
  • Red card stock - for confetti, I also used a scrap of neon paper for a little color pop
  • Tissue paper - for confetti
  • Glue. I used Elmer’s.
  • Tape. I used double sided tape to keep the look clean.
  • Bakers Twine
  • Bells, Mini tissue paper tassels, 3D cut out stars or any other small bobbles you may have on hand.

Tools

Instructions

1Print template and cut tabs along the cut lines provided.
2To use hole punch for confetti cut 1 inch strips of card stock and tissue paper. Sandwich the tissue paper in between the cards stock strips or standard paper and tissue paper and punch. Often times the tissue paper will become stuck in the hole punch because it is so light weight. Adding a heavier weight paper to both sides really helps to cut crisp dots.
3Dot the glue on the printed piece of paper and arrange confetti so that it looks like Champaign bubbles, large clusters at the bottom, and smaller bubbles at the top. Allow to dry
4Wrap bottle by applying tape to bottle and securing paper in place. Fold in cut tabs. I think it works best if you apply double sided tape in layers and overlay but, that’s just what worked for me.
5Gently twist paper at neck of bottle. It will stay put at the top. No need to tape or glue to secure.
6Cut length of Bakers Twine approximately 6 feet in length, fold length of twine in half so that string is doubled. Make loop and strip over bottle neck. Wrap to a one inch height. Add bells and bobbles to string and double tie.
